Leicester’s live music scene is getting a welcome boost — with 2Funky Music Cafe at the centre of it.
2Funky Complex to Receive Major Venue Upgrades
2Funky Music Cafe and Firebug Bar have been selected for significant improvements through initiatives led by the Music Venue Trust. The upgrades aim to strengthen Leicester’s live music offering and attract more touring artists to the city.
At 2Funky, the focus is on enhancing the artist experience. Plans include upgraded dressing rooms, improved backstage areas, a refreshed artist entrance, and a revamped green room — all designed to make performers feel welcome and supported.
The project is funded by the grassroots levy on large-scale concerts, alongside support from Coldplay, who donated a portion of their 2025 UK tour proceeds to grassroots venues.
Owner Vijay Mistry said the improvements will help attract a wider range of artists and elevate the live experience for audiences.
With these upgrades, 2Funky Complex continues to play a leading role in shaping the future of Leicester’s music scene.
